The Bradenton SDB Church had its first worship service at its new location in the Braden River Presbyterian church on Peridia Boulevard. What a blessing to have such pleasant surroundings. God is very good to us. We had such a nice service filled with music and praises to our risen Lord and Savior. A special music presentation consisted of a quartet with violin and guitar accompaniment performing ‘A Closer Walk’, ‘Precious Lord’ and ‘Amazing Grace.’
The message was a story of events leading up to the Resurrection of Jesus as He orchestrated His own glorious sacrifice for our sins. The story started with Jesus telling His disciples that he would be raised from the dead. Following that astounding announcement was the Transfiguration where Jesus appeared to His disciples with a face shining like the sun and clothes white as light. Then at His last supper Jesus showed His disciples a servant’s humility by washing their feet after which they were instructed to wash each other's feet. Pastor Michael continued with the well-known account of Jesus breaking the bread, representing His body and drinking the wine, signifying His blood. Jesus was preparing His disciples for the final sacrifice that will ever be made to God -- the giving of His life on the cross, atoning for our sins. The message was followed by a Communion Service to remember Jesus' last supper and His death and resurrection, ushering in a new covenant with mankind.
